Afternoon Indulgence at Villa Berawa

A beautiful afternoon begins at Villa Berawa. This quaint and secluded complex of villas is located just off the main streets of Berawa, seconds away from all the hustle and bustle yet cocooned in a tropical and tranquil location. Comprising 8 villas with a total of 14 bedrooms, this award-winning resort is truly one of a kind; you’ll see that all villas are actual traditional wooden Javanese houses constructed in the Joglo style. It is a fact that in a structured Javanese society and tradition, the Joglo house is traditionally associated with the residence of Javanese aristocrats and nobility.

Afternoon Tea  at Villa Berawa is perfect for an afternoon of cosy tête-à-tête over sumptuous traditional Balinese sweets. Built in classic Javanese setting, the atmosphere at Dapur Berawa gives you a welcome change from the hectic environment that is so rampant elsewhere on the island. Combining the unique and cozy ambience of a hundred-year-old traditional Joglo with a great variety of tasty and authentic Indonesian menu and classic Western favourites, this is the ideal space to collect your breath after an entire day out and about in Bali’s glorious sunshine. Take a seat in one of the timeless wooden chairs and look about you; everything you see is works of art. There are handpainted and handmade tiles, artwork and ornaments. The ceiling itself is a wondrous depiction of a thousand-year-old culture and history. Time slows down as friendly and efficient staff serves you iced tea or freshly brewed iced Bali coffee in tall chilled glasses. If you prefer your beverage hot, the tea and coffee are then served in pots. Take in the relaxed and casual atmosphere as you unwind with your friends or loved ones in the warm tropical balmy air over servings of banana pancakes with chocolate sauce or strawberry jam, fried banana with powdered sugar or banana jaffle with syrup. Afternoon Tea at Villa Berawa is available at only IDR 60,000 nett per couple and is a peaceful and rejuvenating experience, perfect for an intermission in-between your daily Bali activities. Finished? Head on down to Berawa Beach, located just 5 minutes away, just in time for sunset! Or stay on for dinner – try the all-time favourites Ayam Betutu, Nasi Campur Dapur Berawa, Chicken Satay and Ikan Bakar Sambel Matah.

If you’re a huge fan of local Indonesian dishes, why not take the entire experience home with you and try it out in the comforts of your own kitchen? Cooking Class with the Chef at Dapur Berawa gives you the opportunity to make 2 authentic Indonesian dishes under the guidance of the Villa’s chef. Try your creations at Dapur Berawa and take home the recipes for only IDR 250,000 nett per person. After all that indulging, do head on to The Gym at Villa Berawa. Fully equipped with today’s modern machinery, working out here is always a pleasure, and so affordable at only IDR 50,000 nett per person per day.
