french-food-festival-2015Celebrity Master Chef Chris Salans will host the very first, “The French Connection - Festival Gastronomique” of 2015 - an exciting four-day culinary extravaganza of cooking masterclasses, workshops, dinners and food-centered events.


This four day event will bring together four French celebrity chefs including Alain Caron, Gilles Marx, Jacques Porcel and Chris Salans to celebrate the best of French gourmet food in Bali and showcase current international trends in cuisine to Indonesia.


Jacques Pourcel


chef-jacques-pourcelJacques Pourcel’s Montpellier Le Jardin des Sens opened in 1988 and quickly became one of the top gastronomic venues of South of France, with Michelin Stars and Awards also following.  In 1998, the third Michelin Star was awarded for his creative style of fine food. 

Distinct for textural plays and contrasts of hot and cold, smooth and crunchy, sweet and savory, Jacques Pourcel has been travelling and opening restaurants in several cities on three continents:  his fine dining style can be found in Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Geneva, Marrakesh, Paris, ethnic cuisine concept brasseries Montpellier, Béziers, Levallois-Perret, Mauritius, and lastly bistrots specializing in fish at Sète and Marseille.  With twin brother Laurent, Jacques Pourcel is a French Culinary ambassador, and author of several books.


Alain Caron


chef-alain-caronBased in the Netherlands, French born Alain Caron has worked with chefsétoilés like Boyer, Bardet, Roux, Guérard, TroisGros.  With a long list of published articles, and international press coverage, Alain Caron has appeared as a Star Chef in many international world culinary events and television programs. 



Although he does not own a restaurant, his appearances, caterings and many special private dinner and culinary activities have made him one of the world’s most famous chef and recognized culinary phenomenon.  His latest cookbook The French Country of Alain was published in 2012.




Gilles Marx

With his more than 30 years of experience in the making, Masterchef Chef Gilles Marx is still thriving for the highest standards of excellence. Ever since AMUZ opened its doors in Jakarta, numerous acknowledgments & accolades have been awarded to him, for his remarkable work and more importantly for his human side of the business.  He now runs and oversees the flag ship of the company AMUZ, but also; APREZ a catering company directed to small & medium scale caterings, Auroz Bistro Grill, Artoz Bar & lounge the latest addition to the company.




Chris Salans
