GM Interview: Seres Spring’s Nyoman Prabawa

Bali Plus recently caught up with Pak Nyoman Prabawa, General Manager at the newly opened SereS Springs Resort & Spa in Singakerta, Ubud. With decades of experience, Pak Nyoman strives to bring Ubud, Bali into the eyes of the world by doing his part in making Ubud a yoga, vegan and MICE destination by honing the skills of the local talent at SereS Springs and SenS Ubud to provide upscale quality and service delivery.

There are many hotels here in Ubud, how will SereS Springs differentiate itself from the rest?  Our focus is to turn Ubud into Asia’s MICE and Wedding destination; our focus may differ from other resorts in the area. We have the largest Ballrooms in Ubud which can accommodate Weddings, Meetings, Conferences and Exhibitions.

The resort just opened its doors - tell us about its facilities and other offerings.  SereS Springs has 60 Hotel Rooms and 20 Villas with one pool for every Villa. On the grounds there are 2 infinity pools and 1 natural Sacred Springs Pond, an Italian Restaurant with Wood Fire Pizza Oven, a Cafe & Bar Lounge and an All-Day Dining Restaurant and Pool Bar.  The Tampak Siring Ballroom the ideal Meeting & Wedding venue for up to 500 people. The Saraswati Ballroom can accommodate up to 250 people and the Singakerta Boardroom up to 24 people. There is also a multi-purpose Pavilion for Weddings, Private Dinners, Yoga, and more.

What F&B offerings are available at SereS Springs? Authentic Italian cuisine at Bell’Aria, our Italian Restaurant, as well as Western favourites, Balinese, Indonesian, Chinese and Japanese food.  After dinner, guests can enjoy live music performances at Cafe DarSini Lounge and Bar.

What are the resort’s WOW factors? In addition to its serene and untouched surroundings, SereS Springs is also home to a Sacred Springs Pond. A Balinese High Priest has declared that the water is healing and holy, ideal for spiritual cleansing. Our Wedding Chapel is a beautiful space for a romantic experience. Our air-conditioned Fitness Centre comes with a view of the rice fields. We also have our own hydroponics plantation where we grow fresh vegetables.

How many room categories are there and what are their unique selling points? There are Superior and Premium Rooms with universal power sockets, complete amenities and in-room coffee & tea facilities, cutleries and plates. Premium Rooms and Villas feature an Ofura Soaking Bathtub each as well as Coffee Machines with Coffee Powder. All villas feature a private dipping pool and massage beds.

Pak Nyoman takes pride in his team of staff, of which 40% are from the surrounding communities. He leads them by setting examples and an open door policy while maintaining a work-life balance despite hectic 12-hour days by disconnecting completely on the weekends. SereS Springs actively gives back to the local communities by working with as many local suppliers as possible including florists, farmers and musicians while also contributing to the local orphanage in Nyuh Kuning, Singakerta.
