Little Ubud In The Heart Of Seminyak

There’s a reason why Hotel Vila Lumbung is dubbed “Little Ubud”. This beautiful and sprawling resort is a hidden oasis that will seduce the eyes and win your heart and is just steps away from the most popular bars, beach clubs, restaurants and shopping.

Walking into the resort brings a touch of nostalgia of a time that’s long gone but you’ll find it all here in Hotel Vila Lumbung where noise and stress fade away into peace and tranquillity. Each villa stands individually, each in its own little nook in an expansive, lush and green tropical garden. Designed using strong superior materials including solid stones and quality hardwood, the villas blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings, emanating an aura of timelessness and charm that will win over any discerning guest. The most impressive unit that won us over was the Family Villa, which spans over three thoughtfully laid-out floors and so charmingly designed to bring you that feeling of living in a secluded and cozy yet luxurious Balinese cottage. Built with natural stone floors and pillars and trimmed with solid hardwood, the bright and airy living room shares its space with the semi-open kitchen while the Master Bedroom lies towards the back with its own vaulted bamboo ceiling and private garden, accessible via a series of sliding glass doors. Its semi outdoor bathroom is a tropical dream, a feeling of traditional luxury and class with white marble amidst a sultry ambience. The second-floor houses twin beds and a mini living area ensconced in shiny hardwood for a comfortable feel. A narrow staircase leads the way to the third floor which was designed in the rooftop loft fashion under vaulted wooden ceilings. A magnificent curved window takes up the entire space behind the bed, bringing in amazing light and air – also a great Instagrammable spot! The entire villa is decorated with precious and authentic antiques and carved wood deco sourced from Bali and throughout Indonesia and furnished to represent the allure of Indonesia’s unique cultures and traditions, complete with today’s modern amenities.

There are 2 Family Villas, 34 Deluxe Lumbung and 36 Superior Lumbung rooms – each of these replicates the same look and feel of the Family Villa but within a slightly smaller space. Enjoy a glorious afternoon strolling through the resort on stone pathways that wind through a splendid Balinese garden which also connects the lobby lounge, swimming pool, Spa and Restaurant.

The Lumbung Spa

The Lumbung Spa is a haven of tranquillity. Here, in its own individual building, you’ll find a full spectrum of unique and signature spa treatments to suit all your wellness needs. The menu is a delightful medley of body, hair and face treatments, allowing you to indulge for hours for a rewarding head-to-toe spa experience. The Lumbung Elixir is a must-try Signature Treatment; a combination of Lumbung, Balinese and Deep Tissue Massage followed by a Body Scrub, a Refining Facial Treatment and a warm Flower Bath. This treatment was designed to rejuvenate all cells, tissues, organs and systems within the body while psychologically attaining the art of wellbeing. The Lumbung Bliss ignites deep relaxation using the gentle movements of the Lumbung Massage and a Body Mask while the Lumbung Inspiration is a combination of Lumbung Massage and Thai Stretching using warm aromatherapy oils to relax muscle tension and improve joint movements. Other a la carte treatments also available at Lumbung Spa are a selection of Body Massages, Body Exfoliations, Hands & Feet Treatments and Face and Hair Treatments. You could choose to have your massage in the Spa’s well-appointed treatment rooms or outside in the gazebo overlooking the gardens.

Lumbung Restaurant

Located right next to the expansive, split-level lagoon pool is the Lumbung Restaurant that offers a delicious assortment of Balinese, Indonesian, International and Western cuisine. The Executive Chef and Sous Chef are Balinese and come with decades of experience. In this cool semi-open air outlet also designed in the Lumbung style, you can relax to the sounds of nature while you watch your little ones play about in the swimming pool. Dishes that are strongly recommended are the Pizza Rendang, Lumbung Nasi Goreng and Lumbung Mie Goreng. But why not be a little bit more adventurous? There’s the Sup Buntut; Australian Beef Oxtail Soup in local spices, the traditional Balinese Ayam Betutu (chicken in Balinese spices) or the Bebek Goreng Kremes; fried duck Indonesian style. There’s a plethora of Pasta, Pizzas, Antipasti and Bites that’s perfect for an afternoon with a pitcher of Red Sangria or a freshly made Cocktail or two. We tried the Chicken Popcorn with Sweet Thai Sauce and the Pisang Goreng or Fried Banana and we were in love. You could try the Chicken Nachos, Crispy Onion Ring or Deep Fried Breaded Crab Meat if the mood strikes.

Family Getaways, Honeymoon and Weddings

Lovers and honeymooners can indulge in romance under the stars with the resort’s Romantic Dinner option featuring 3 tantalizing courses with a fairytale setup in the garden. The resort’s expansive and exotic garden is also a great venue for weddings. Families can also choose for a package dinner or lunch. Everything served here at Lumbung Restaurant is of the freshest and the best quality with vegetables from Bedugul and seafood from Jimbaran and imported salmon from Norway and beef from Australia. While you’re there, don’t miss out on the weekly and daily specials, like Happy Hour for Buy 1 Get 1 Free, a BBQ Buffet every Thursday accompanied by Live Acoustic Music, Sate Night and a myriad of delicious and authentic cocktails using Balinese plants, herbs and spices.

Throughout your stay at the resort, you could try your hand at Guests’ Activities like the Balinese Handicraft taking place every Wednesday, Cocktail Class every Thursday and Pool Activities every day like volleyball, yoga and basketball. Kids can play at the resort’s playground. Guests can also join in the resort’s Balinese Ceremonies whenever there is one including Full Moon and New Moon days, where there will also be a Balinese All-You-Can-Eat Buffet accompanied by Balinese dancing.
