MÉTIS: Bali’s Most Impressive

When in Bali this February and looking for the ultimate venue to sip, mingle and dine amidst beautiful people in a unique, sophisticated and elevated setting, then do visit the award-winning MÉTIS Restaurant, Lounge & Gallery in on one of Bali’s most fashionable districts. Famous for its exquisite French-Mediterranean cuisine, fine selection of wines, beautiful Balinese garden and a gallery with the most impressive collection of contemporary and antique art, this elegant sanctuary for connoisseurs and art lovers promises to transport you into a whimsical world that creatively pairs classical fine dining concept with lush tropical beauty in its stylish establishment located in the heart of Seminyak.

First opened in 2009 as the brainchild of culinary legend Nicolas ‘Doudou’ Tourneville and art lover, Said Alem, MÉTIS has been ranked as one of Asia’s Top 20 restaurants (Miele Guide Best of Asia, 2013) and recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence (2013). Dining at MÉTIS is always a pleasure, a treat for the senses within a unique ambience. Every meal at MÉTIS is a journey in itself; feast on Executive Chef Dove Sudarsana’s passion, imagination and creativity through the strong presence of meticulous cuisines such as the slow-cooked Moroccan Lamb Shank Tajine with Roots Vegetables, Prunes, Chickpeas and Winter Fruit Couscous or the Grilled Organic Grass-Fed Australian Beef Tenderloin with Bellota Croquettes and Black Truffle Juice. The extensive menu at MÉTIS is believed to be one of Bali’s everlasting favourites with plenty of healthy, vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. MÉTIS Restaurant is open from Monday to Saturdays for lunch and dinner and from 4pm for High Tea and then dinner from 6pm on Sundays. Adjoining to MÉTIS Restaurant is MÉTIS Lounge, a pulsating, quirky but sophisticated oasis for all soirées taking place in Bali. Numerous world-class hip music shows and themed party events are regularly held, showcasing luminary DJs and artistic talents from all across the globe. Indulge in cutting-edge concoctions and petite bites as ‘sharing-for-caring’ concept. Beverage choices feature ‘stirred-and-shaken’ martinis, luscious vintage and newly-invented cocktails, shots, and premium spirit brands like Beluga Vodka and Patrón Tequila, while the bubbling options feature France’s most respected champagne like Dom Pérignon and Cristal. The tapas menu presents a mix of international appeal, with Mediterranean highlights and Japanese inspirations.

Experiences at MÉTIS would vary, depending on your preferences and taste. The establishment has now made available its Wine Cellar for private dining experiences. Wine, dine and shine under the exclusive attention of the attentive and excellent, highly-trained service team and surrounded by a beautifully designed interior, a rich ambience, brass accents, original artwork and wine-lined walls. Upstairs at MÉTIS is the Private Dining Room, an intimate enclave that’s perfect for 100 guests to luxuriate in among natural hardwood finishing, antique pieces and sparkling lights cast by captivating chandeliers and its own private bar and kitchen. And, this Chinese New Year, don’t miss the party of the month at MÉTIS Lounge with Barongsai performances and DJ sets by Ben Burgess!
