Salsa Saturdays; Dancing & Dining

Those feeling vibrant, energetic and full of life will love Salsa Night at Sereh Gourmet Supermarket. Bali’s favourite gourmet food utopia and restaurant offering all-day dining is also the hottest spot in Jimbaran for Salsa dance and music lovers. Salsa Night takes place every Saturday night at Sereh Gourmet Supermarket’s outdoor terrace and everyone is invited to join. At Sereh, a night out is no ordinary run for groceries; this uniquely elegant and chic bodega also offers fun and exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy everyday throughout the week.

Salsa Night or Latin Night begins at 7pm every Saturday. A live Salsa Band will take to the stage playing the bongos, guitars and drums accompanied by an extremely talented vocalist. The group thrives at salsa, bachata and merengue music, including classic Latin and dance music. As they fill the air with the catchiest Latino rhythms and songs, you’ll know that a party is about to start! The best part about Salsa Night is that there are two professional Salsa dancers that you can dance along with; Stacey and Dhwani are certified and professional Salsa instructors from the Cuban Salsa Indonesia organization. When they’re not dancing up a storm around the region or winning at competitions, they are here at Sereh’s Salsa Night to groove to Salsa’s most rhythmic tunes with anyone who wants to join. Friendly, warm and extremely talented, both Stacey and Dhwani will guide you step-by-step through some of Salsa’s basic and popular moves so you’ll be sure to have a fun and lively night out. Those who want to learn Salsa Dancing can always go a step further and join in the Salsa Dance Class happening every Monday night at Sereh Gourmet Supermarket. Priced at only IDR 120,000 per person per class, the Kisomba class begins at 5pm and the Cuban Salsa class begins at 6pm. There are no age limits but small children should be accompanied by a family member or a responsible adult.

If you’re feeling hungry during Salsa Night, simply take a seat at one of the picnic tables overlooking the mouthwatering BBQ Counter for some delicious selections fresh off the grill. Choose from a myriad of readily marinated meats including the tenderest and succulent beef, chicken, lamb, kebabs, sausages and the freshest prawns for a delightful BBQ medley. Have a feast, and pick from Black Pepper BBQ Sauce or Mushroom Sauce to complete your meal.  If you want Indonesian or International favourites, choose from Sereh Café’s new and extensive ala-carte menu. Satisfy every craving within you with delicious options like Lobster Salted Egg, Cwi Mie, Green Chili Fried Rice, Nachos, Chicken Satay, Cassava Bitterballen, Salmon Soup, Steak and Lamb Chops, a selection of Sandwiches and Burgers and Pastas including Cheesy Chicken or Salmon Pomodoro or the Cheesy Chicken and the Spicy Tuna Aglio Olio. Drinks are always freshly prepared - Indonesian healthy drinks, juices, smoothies, boosters and beers or why not order a glass of wine or two to cap of your night?
