As part of our ongoing commitment to honour Indonesia’s diverse cultural and culinary heritage, Alaya Resort Ubud proudly presents a series of themed dinners. These well-executed events all take place at Manisan Restaurant, an elegant venue housed within a traditional Javanese Joglo edged by a productive rice field.

Balinese Night with Legong Dance

Experience an authentic Indonesian Dinner with a Legong Dance performance every Thursday evening at Manisan Bali. Specialty dishes from around the Indonesian archipelago are served buffet style alongside different courses for everyone to try. Table settings are arranged to face the charming Manisan Garden where elaborately costumed dancers gracefully move to the harmonious sounds of gamelan music. Legong is a classic Balinese court dance that re-enacts the kidnapping and rescue of a beautiful princess. This enriching weekly event also features a small art market showcasing unique souvenirs handcrafted by local villagers. It is priced at IDR 250K++ per person.

Barbecue Night with Ramayana Dance

A superb buffet dinner featuring a live grill station will satisfy your appetite with authentic dishes such succulent satays and island-fresh seafood. Be mesmerized by a traditional dance where mythical creatures depict the eternal struggle between good and evil. This vibrant performance takes place in Manisan Bali’s charming garden in a setting lit by flaming bamboo torches. Available every Saturday, this exclusive dining event promises a real taste of Bali, which is a rich blend of art, tradition and culture. It is priced at IDR 250K++ per person.

East Meet West Night with Barong Dance

For an evening of East Meet West flavour and flair, our East Meet West Night with Barong Dance celebrates the island’s creative spirit. A superb buffet dinner featuring live cooking stations takes guests on an exotic journey with an array of tasty dishes highlighted by a whole suckling roast pig. Entertainment is a dynamic performance of the Barong Dance with costumed creatures based on Balinese mythology re-counting the universal tale of the struggle between good and evil. This vibrant enactment takes place in Manisan Garden lit by flaming bamboo torches. Available every Sunday, this exclusive dining event promises a real taste of East Meet West, which is a rich blend of art, tradition and religion. It is priced at IDR 250K++ per person.
