Try Saba Shioyaki at Bali’s Favourite Japanese Restaurant, Sushi Tei. Saba, or its more common name, the mackerel is cooked with a sprinkling of salt – this method is called Shioyaki, hence the name of the dish; grilled salted mackerel or Saba Shioyaki. Focusing on its freshness, the Japanese would try their best to fish for them during fall and winter seasons, as it is believed that the mackerel caught during these particular times are fatter and bursting with more natural flavours.
