Where Legend Meets Style At Manisan Bali, Alaya Resort Ubud

January 24, 2017

Alaya Ubud is the perfect place to be if you’re looking for a bit of refreshing and time away from all the hustle and bustle. In recent months, this beloved establishment unveiled its newest additions, which include the much awaited Manisan Restaurant and a brand new wing.

Manisan sits in the middle of a productive rice field adjacent to the resort with space to comfortably seat up to 128 diners. It is housed within a reclaimed Joglo (a traditional Javanese wooden home) that was sourced from Central Java and reassembled and expertly refurbished in Ubud by Grounds Kent with interior by Made Wijaya.

Some recommended dishes include the Binte Biluhuta Gorontalo, a North Sulawesi light and spicy clear soup with sweet corn, young coconut, chili and shrimp and Ayam Pongpongan, a Balinese starter of smoked chicken fillet in coconut husks or the Tuna Naniura Batak from North Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s new wing features 40 rooms and 5 suites, a gym, boardroom and another swimming pool. There is also a 350 year-old wooden Joglo that has been repurposed as a wedding pavilion or venue for intimate events.
