Road to Give 2022 Bali Supports Education for Underprivileged Children and Sustainable Efforts For Clean Villages in Bali

Marriott International’s annual fundraising effort returns this year under a new name, embracing all types of movements for health and wellbeing while making an impact to the communities in Bali with Bali Children Foundation and Sungai Watch.

 

Over four thousand (4,000) participants from Marriott International’s associates in Bali and Lombok and the general public moved together for a good cause in Road To Give 2022 Bali on October 15, 2022, at the Peninsula Island, ITDC, to raise fund for Bali Children Foundation and Sungai Watch. In addition, online fundraising is also organized throughout October 2022, where everyone can set up a challenge for themselves and donate to charity partners.

Martin Ehlers, General Manager at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa and Chairman of Road to Give 2022 Bali said: “Since we started Run To Give in 2014, we have received fantastic response every year from the Marriott family and the public. After two years of happening virtually, this year, we are proud to celebrate its return to the field with a new name ‘ROAD TO GIVE’. It provides a platform for our associates and the public to move in different ways to support the charitable organizations in our community.”

The Road To Give Bali event took place on October 15, 2022, from 6 AM at the Peninsula Island, ITDC, The Nusa Dua – Bali. Twenty five (25) hotels and resorts under Marriott International in Bali and Lombok and over four thousand (4,000) people gathered and moved through a series of fun activities, from Zumba, Yoga, 5K Fun Run, and Walk. Participation was open at IDR 150,000 per person with Road To Give jersey included. All funds will be donated to Bali Children Foundation and Sungai Watch.

Martin Ehlers said: “For years, we have been partnering with Bali Children Foundation to make a positive impact through education. Road To Give Bali will provide the support for Bali Children Foundation in continuing their fantastic work in improving educational opportunities for children in Bali’s remote communities.

“As environmental sustainability is a relevant and strong message within our industry, this year we extend the support to Sungai Watch to ensure we can assist in creating a better, cleaner, and greener environment.”

Those who could not join the 5K Fun Run event can still contribute to the charity though month-long online fundraising on the Bali Children Foundation website. From October 1 to 31, 2022, participants can register, set a suitable and meaningful challenge for themselves – run a 5K, walk 50K, swim 10K, complete a 48-hour cycle challenge – alone or as a team, and donate to the charity. The donation platform accepts IDR, USD, and AUD, with a minimum donation of AUD 15 or equivalent.
